Velia de la Cruz es una fotógrafa de 35 años nacida en Hidalgo del Parral Chihuahua, se tituló como Licenciada en Ciencias de la Comunicación con acentuación en publicidad por la Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León.
Participó en tres exposiciones colectivas, así como en diversas charlas y entrevistas como fundadora del proyecto Fotógrafas del Norte.
Tomó talleres de Fotografía documental y storytelling impartidos por Tamara Merino y Ari Espay, Fotografía documental con Lizeth Arauz, Proyectos documentales impartido por Ivonne Venegas y cursos sobre periodismo, derechos de las mujeres y personas refugiadas.
El trabajo fotoperiodístico de Velia se publica en periódico El Norte en Monterrey y en otros medios a través de Agencia Reforma desde el año 2011. Actualmente toma el programa Respaldando Nuevas Alianzas para Erradicar la Violencia contra las Mujeres en Política y Medios de IWMF & NDI y el seminario De la Punta de la lengua a las plantas de los pies en el Centro Cultural La Cresta y de la plataforma Espacio en Blanco y es fundadora del proyecto Fotógrafas del Norte.

Velia de la Cruz is a 35-year-old photographer born in Hidalgo del Parral Chihuahua, with a degree in Communication Sciences with an emphasis on advertising from the Autonomous University of Nuevo León.
She participated in three group exhibitions, as well as various talks and interviews as the founder of the Northern Photographers project.
She took workshops on documentary photography and storytelling taught by Tamara Merino and Ari Espay, documentary photography with Lizeth Arauz, documentary projects taught by Ivonne Venegas and courses on journalism, women's rights and refugees.
Velia's photojournalistic work has been published in the newspaper El Norte in Monterrey and in other media through Agencia Reforma since 2011. Currently she takes the program Supporting New Alliances to Eradicate Violence against Women in Politics and the Media of IWMF & NDI and the seminar From the tip of the tongue to the soles of the feet at the La Cresta Cultural Center and the Espacio en Blanco platform, and she is the founder of the Fotógrafas del Norte project.
